My Go-To Packing List

by Tausha Cowan in Tips, Musings

Newsflash: I like organization. And planning. And preparation.

So it should come as no surprise that any time I travel, I have a packing list. Actually I have a packing list and a separate, detailed outfits list (doesn’t everyone?). It helps to keep me from never (almost never) forgetting anything I need for my next adventure.

Of course my packing list isn’t set in stone and always needs to be adapted depending on where I’m going, but there’s a core set of things that I keep on there to make sure I’m covered.

In case you’re like me and forget what you packed for a trip as soon as you return and unpack from a trip, this list is a helpful guide that you should use and adapt for your needs. Here's my list of things I pack, in no particular order.

  • Passport and copy of passport

  • Adapter

  • Travel sized toiletries: lotion, shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, toothpaste, toothbrush, floss, face wipes or face wash, face cream

  • Extra plastic ziplock bags for liquids, etc.

  • Bag for dirty clothes

  • Money belt

  • Knapsack

  • Cross body purse

  • Makeup

  • Outfits and shoes (separate list)

  • Jewelry

  • Swimsuit

  • Baseball cap

  • Money and credit cards

  • Priority Pass card

  • Medicine: Advil, Immodium, Benedryl, prescription meds

  • Hand sanitizer

  • Deodorant

  • Tissues

  • Wet wipes

  • Snacks

  • Sunscreen

  • Hair items

  • Camera

  • Camera charger

  • Phone charger

  • Umbrella or poncho

  • Suitcase lock

  • Reading/entertainment

  • First aid kit

  • Sunglasses

  • Vaseline

  • Vitamins

  • Razor

  • Wash cloth

  • Scarf

  • Plane socks

What's on your packing list?

Put me on, near or in the water, and I am a very happy camper ⛵️ it’s called being a Pisces 😉 Soaking up the last of the New England warm weather with a socially distanced vacation in beautiful Newport, Rhode Island 😍
I sometimes forget that l traveled to Europe twice this year before COVID put the world on pause (two out of what would’ve been five confirmed trips to Europe). This picture was taken during my first Europe trip back in January, which now feels

You can find me back here (in my dreams) 😌
I have no problem staying home and staying safe (and wearing a mask when I do go out 😷), but sometimes the travel bug hits hard. On this #WanderlustWednesday, I’m missing my far-flung adventures and looking forward to the next one, whenever an
I recently came across this picture, which was taken back in January during a beautiful evening on Oxford Street in London. Who knows when I’ll be able to walk down a crowded street again without being paranoid 🤷🏾‍♀️ Also, who knows when
