Another Update: My 2019 Travel Plans (And Travels So Far)

by Tausha Cowan in Do, Musings

Venice, Italy
Venice, Italy

It’s time for another update on my travels! I know you’ve been waiting with bated breath...

In my last travel update, I shared photos from my travels up until May and where I was planning to go for the remainder of the year. Since that last update, here’s where I’ve been:

Italy
Italy was a wonderful work and play trip that included a quick solo weekend in Milan followed by 10 days of work in Venice, and it was all incredible. Though I still don’t particularly love Venice because it’s just too crowded for me, I still had a great time with colleagues.

Copenhagen
It was my first time in Denmark, ever, and I went to Copenhagen with really high food expectations. Overall, I didn’t LOVE the food (though I did LOVE my very last smørrebrød meal with Aamanns), but I definitely enjoyed it (especially their bread 😩). What I did overall love was this random concert in Tivoli Gardens that I went to with a popular Danish DJ named MORTEN. It was the most perfect weather and an amazing concert, which was the highlight of my time there.

England
I always love going to England, and this trip was no exception. My parents decided to meet me there, and my dad even came with me on a day trip to Brighton when I went for work. Plus, after months (years?) of trying to get Hamilton tickets but refusing to pay an arm and a leg, I finally got to see the West End production of Hamilton. I still need to see it on Broadway, but this will do for now.

Brighton Beach

South Florida
During this latest trip to South Florida, I spent a few days working and a few days in Miami Beach during what was very bizarre weather for Florida. It always rains during hurricane season but this was an unusual amount of rain, unfortunately. Regardless, I still had fun a great time and spent much of it with family.

Jamaica
From Florida, I flew to Jamaica (after an 11-hour flight delay on a particular airline; my second 11-hour flight delay with this airline) for a family double birthday blowout in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The weather was HOT (Jamaica in August is slightly boiling) but we still had a great time celebrating over the course of three family and fun-filled days.

New Jersey
I ended my summer with a chill bachelorette weekend in New Jersey. It was a weekend of wine, celebrating my friend’s upcoming wedding, wine, laying by the pool and bonfire, wine, s’mores and dance parties, and – in case you missed it the first few times – wine. And thankfully, Mother Nature cooperated and we had gorgeous weather the entire weekend.

New Jersey

And here’s what’s coming up:

South Florida
I’m in Florida every single month for the rest of the year. Between a wedding, a baby shower and the holidays, I’m seeing a lot of South Florida in the coming months. I also have a fun weekend in Islamorada (just north of Key West) squeezed in there.

Philadelphia and New Jersey
My double wedding weekend is bringing me to Philly and New Jersey over the span of three days. Thankfully they’re a train ride away from each other, allowing me to attend a close high school friend’s wedding and then head to New Jersey to be a bridesmaid in a close college friend’s wedding.

Los Angeles
Shortly after my double wedding weekend, I’m off to Los Angeles for work and play. First, I have a work conference, then my sister is meeting me in LA (her first time!) and we’re spending a few extra days exploring one of my favorite U.S. cities.

TBD
Lastly, I really want to squeeze in one more trip before the end of the year. I have some ideas of where to go but nothing definite. Hopefully I’ll figure it out soon!

Los Angeles, California

That’s it for now! Be back at the end of the year (where did 2019 go?!) with a recap of ALL of my 2019 travels.

I have no problem staying home and staying safe (and wearing a mask when I do go out 😷), but sometimes the travel bug hits hard. On this #WanderlustWednesday, I’m missing my far-flung adventures and looking forward to the next one, whenever an
I recently came across this picture, which was taken back in January during a beautiful evening on Oxford Street in London. Who knows when I’ll be able to walk down a crowded street again without being paranoid 🤷🏾‍♀️ Also, who knows when
