Y’all. I can’t believe I did not post anything in November. I wish I could say it’s because I was doing all sorts of exciting, travel-filled things, but it was mostly a whole lotta work (though my family did welcome a new healthy baby boy the day before Thanksgiving, which was very exciting and truly something to be grateful for). All this to say, my bad for going MIA, but I’m back and here to share the year’s travels.

I started this look back at my travels two years ago, in 2017 followed by my 2018 travel year in review. I love looking back at everywhere I’ve been – it always makes me grateful for the experiences I’ve had and excited for more. Here’s the 2019 rundown:

January: Jamaica, South Florida, Mexico

The year began with a travel bang! I started this year in Jamaica, then flew to Florida, then to New York, then to Mexico, then back to Florida, then back to Mexico. A lot of planes were boarded over the course of three weeks, but during this time I got to celebrate a friend’s wedding, have the best horseback riding adventure evah and discover how much I LOVE Mexico City!

February: Does Dallas Count?

After such a full-on January, I didn’t actually go anywhere in February (though by the end of the month, I was ITCHING to travel). I ask if Dallas counts because on my way back from Mexico City, I had a connection in Dallas that was supposed to be two hours but, due to a delayed plane leaving Mexico City, turned into an overnight visit to Dallas at the beginning of the month. I didn’t see anything, though. Next time! Until then, here’s another picture of Mexico:

March: Iceland

Iceland was such a cool adventure. I usually try to go somewhere warm during the winter, but I embraced the cold and the adventure of Iceland, and I’m so glad I did. I would go back to Iceland in a heartbeat! And don’t get me started on those Icelandic horses. I love them!

April: Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand

April was my big personal trip of the year, and it was nonstop movement around Asia. Literally. In 16 days I went from New York to Hong Kong to Vietnam to Bangkok to Phuket to Hong Kong to New York. It was a lot and yet I loved it. If there’s one place I wish I could’ve spent more time, it’s Vietnam, which was so great! I will definitely be back, Vietnam (and let’s be real I’m also going back to Hong Kong and Thailand), and will eat all the food.

May: South Florida, Italy

In May, I saw my forever FLOTUS in Florida during her book tour, then I started my big work + play trip of the year, when I spent three weeks in Europe at the end of May/first half of June. I was in Venice for work for 10 days, with two days of play in Milan before work started.

June: Denmark, England

After work in Italy ended, I spent a long weekend exploring Copenhagen (my first time but not my last!) and then worked remotely from London and Brighton for a week. I had a great time seeing friends (and their babies), showing my parents some of my favorite spots in London and finding new places to love.

July: Does Long Island Count?

Once again, after traveling so much in March, April, May, and June, I decided to take a break in July and stay local. The furthest I went was to Long Island for my friend’s bridal shower, which was beautiful and full of love and delicious treats. But otherwise, it was a rest and relaxation month.

August: South Florida, Jamaica, New Jersey

Not one to stay still for too long, I went back to South Florida, for what would be the beginning of monthly visits to Florida. This trip was for my cousin’s gender reveal, followed by a joint birthday bash in Jamaica, and then later in the month, a friend’s bachelorette weekend getaway in New Jersey.

September: South Florida, Philadelphia, New Jersey

September was all about the weddings. As in three weddings. Nine days. Three different states. Luckily, two of the weddings were only a two-hour train ride from each other, so I could make both weddings in the same weekend. All of the weddings were beautiful, and I ate all the cake.

October: California, South Florida

A few days after my last wedding, I got on a plane and headed to the west coast for 10 days – another work + play adventure. After spending the first half of my trip at a work conference in LA, my sister flew out to meet me and we spent some time exploring the city. I then flew to South Florida for my cousin’s fun and fabulous baby shower.

November: South Florida, the Keys

Back to South Florida I went for Thanksgiving, but before that, I spent a weekend in Islamorada in the Keys. It was a very quiet, chill weekend full of tennis, yoga, watching the crazy pelicans on the pier and seafood. Just how I like my chill weekends to be.
